"The typical shootout routine leaves players isolated as they walk up to take their kick and it leaves the goalkeeper isolated the entire shootout.

By having the goalkeeper pass the ball to the shooter before they take a shot, as well as the shooter going over to the goalkeeper after shooting it gives the players a few seconds to interact with each other and get out of their own heads. I think it's a fantastic change to the usual grim fear inducing process."
