Dear Tootdon users,
We decided to end the service of Tootdon for iOS / Android on July 7, 2019, in consideration of the usage situation of the app.
We sincerely apologize to the customers who enjoyed it, but thank you for your understanding.
You can continue to use the mastdon instance currently in use from Tootdon by accessing the website of that instance with Safari or Chrome browser, or using a client application other than Tootdon.
Valve hires KWin core developer Roman Gilg for gaming-related XServer and KWin improvements. Roman seems to have a ton of cool projects in the pipeline, and this makes me happy. #KDE
このたび、2017年より運営してまいりましたTootdonですが、アプリのご利用状況等を鑑み2019年7月7日をもちましてTootdon for iOS/Androidの提供を終了させていただくことに致しました。
@Tusky @fedilab Now luckily for us the fediverse hands us a plethora of moderation tools to deal with this. Muting and blocking users, or even hiding all content from certain instances. This way you can have your own curated piece of the fediverse without hate or content you'd rather not see.
In fact, I believe that by allowing all kinds of opinions you enable the possibility for mutual understanding, or at least provide a way for people to make better informed opinions 2/3
Recently @Tusky and @fedilab blocked gab. This raises an interesting question: is the platform responsible for the content of its users, or is it the developers of the clients for said platform?
imo the client is no more than a way to access the platform. No matter who you are and what your opinion is, you're able to share it on the fediverse.
Sadly there are those that feel the need to make extremely rude comments regardless of which side of the argument they're on. 1/2
Time to update: There's a new version of Tor Browser available.
Tor Browser 8.5.2 fixes a critical security issue in Firefox and updates NoScript to 10.6.3. Full changelog: https://blog.torproject.org/new-release-tor-browser-852
I would only block an instance if I receive a clear ban warning from a store.
Without that it will be out of my role.
I will stop here with #Gab by removing the block feature inside the app in the next release.
- I didn't receive a reply from Google policy team about a potential ban of the application.
- Without the previous risk, I clearly think that's not my role. I can't hard-code instance blocks especially when every tools are here for that.
- If you want a strong block, it's in the hands of social network developers or your admins.
